Formé en 1962 par David Fallon, Seán Potts, Michael Tubridy, Martin Fay, et Paddy Moloney à Dublin, The Chieftains est un groupe de folk, irlandais en activité depuis 61 ans dont le genre musical et style majeur est : musique celtique. Ils sont notamment connus pour les tubes Cotton‐Eyed Joe et Carolan's Concerto, mais également Carrickfergus.
