Né le 30 mai 1909 à Chicago, Benny Goodman est un clarinettiste et chef de big band américain. Parmi ses plus grands succès, on compte les chansons Stompin' At The Savoy et Don't Be That Way, ou bien encore King Porter Stomp. Il est mort le 13 juin 1986 à New York, à l'âge de 77 ans. Il aurait eu aujourd'hui 115 ans.

Il peut aussi être connu sous les noms de Goodman, Benjamin David Goodman et de King of Swing.
